Phyllis serves in deaf ministry, not only interpreting worship services and leading Bible Study Class on Sundays, but ministering to the needs of the Deaf during the week (providing transportation, helping the Deaf with finances, scheduling doctor appointments, etc).  She schedules & leads in mission trips for the deaf signing choir.  (see webpage for signing choir).  She is currently involved in teaching American Sign Language to Deaf Iraqi Refugees. “When I was about 10 years old, I committed my life to be a missionary.  When I was in my 20’s I committed my hands to God.   I had no idea what HE had planned for my future!  Through the years, God has prepared me for this time in my life to serve as a Missionary to the Deaf through the North Amercan Mission Board.  Memorial Baptist Church in Sterling Heights, MI started a Deaf Ministry 1983.  I have been serving there since. It has been an amazing journey to see God’s mighty work among the Deaf. My hearts desire is to help those with hearing loss come to know Christ, grow in their faith and help others to do the same.”
